Wednesday 3rd: A Special Celebration at the Welcome Club for over-50s celebrating a 60th wedding anniversary. For more information contact Jack Mills 270244

Wednesday 7th: Welcome Club monthly get-together for the ovre-50's at the Church Hall, 2.30pm. The speaker is Mrs Fiona Ure. For more information contact Jack Mills 270244

Thursday 11th: Appleby WI meeting in the Church Hall, with a beetle drive. The competition is a favourite brooch and the hostesses will be Margaret Cater and Hilda Gothard.  All welcome

Friday 12th: Appleby Film Society presents Milk. The true story of Harvey Milk, and his struggles as an American activist who fought for gay rights and became California's first openly gay elected official. Double Oscar winning (Sean Penn, Best Actor, and Dustin Lance Black, Screenplay); funny, moving and honest. Cert 15. Showings at 2.30pm and 8.00pm, Appleby Church Hall. Wednesday 24th: Monthly coffee morning in aid of church funds, 10.30am to 12 noon, this month at the home of Arthur and Eileen Massie, The Old Dairy, 1 New Road, Appleby Magna. All are welcome to come along for coffee, chat and friendship.

Friday 9th: Appleby Film Society presents Little Miss Sunshine, an hilarious satire on American values with an Oscar winning script. A dysfunctional family from New Mexico set out on a road trip to California to take their daughter to a beauty pageant. With Alan Arkin, Toni Collette, Steve Carrell, Greg Kinnear. Certificate 15. Friday 23rd: Centre Stage present Stuck, at Sir John Moore Foundation. Imagine being stuck to someone else for a day. Anywhere you go they would have to go. You want to sit down and they want to stand up, they want to go to sleep and you want to party all night. Imagine being stuck together for life. Based on a true story of conjoined twins, Chang and Eng, who originated the term 'Siamese Twins'. 8pm. Suitable for families & young people aged 12+. Adult £10, Concessions £8, Child/student £5
